Relatively simple chores or touch-ups at familiar projects. To this end we set up a DIY crew with several objectives: fixing a project, the crew (often donators and volunteers) having fun and the people of the project having fun. On average, Wings of Support performs some two to three odd job activities every year, in various countries, with varying teams.
Often not much is needed for the project to get a much nicer, cleaner or prettier look. Walls can be painted or decorated by drawings. Spaces can be brightened, gardens raked, litter removed. Many of these jobs do not have the priority of local organisations’ management, due to lack of time and staff. It is an ideal opportunity for the volunteers to do something extra for the children.
It is proven that the reaction of children and coaches of a project, to the fact that crew is coming to visit and even spends time on fixing up their living environment is very positive.
